Innerleithen Guided Walking Tour
Last week I did my first ‘Innerleithen Guided Walking Tour’. I took three people, in Innerleithen on a holiday from Suffolk and with very little knowledge of the town, or the wider Borders, and guided them on a 90 minute tour of my home town, giving them the sort of insight a guidebook could never do. This was a brilliant way for me to spend a couple of hours and thankfully my guests loved it too - it was apparently the highlight of their week in The Borders! Thus emboldened, I now want to make it available for other visitors to the town. I reckon the odd local resident might enjoy it too! At £75 for up to 8 people, it is as good a value private tour as you are ever likely to find anywhere in Scotland, and as such it is subject to availability, given it will fit in with my tours further afield.
It’s easy to think tours like this are just about the history of the town, and of course I love to cover the fascinating past, but where they added real value for last weeks guests was giving them a feel for the geography of the place, as well as the culture of today - and where to get a good cuppa!
